De Campo 1-2-3 Original
We run seminars and workshops on request in De Campo 123 Original, a Filipino Martial Art developed by Jose Diaz Caballero in 1925, who gained notoriety as a stick-fighting champion at town fiestas, during the Juego Todo (no holds barred) era of competitive duelling. As a stick-fighting system it specialises in De Campo (or Largo Mano long-reach) methods. The 1-2-3 in the art's name references its tactical formulae of "bait, counter, strike", the combative combination of three principal striking methods (half-strike, full-strike, and device), and the arrangement of its curriculum into three modules (Elementary, High School, and College) mirroring the modern education system that came into effect during the founder's youth. Like Boxing, the system is built upon a small number of techniques that are drilled repetitively in a series of strategic combinations, and with a number of unique styles of footwork called dakinas (sliding), kinto (tiptoe), sagadsad (shuffling or skidding), and paspas (rapid stomping).
